IowaWatch story, “The Story of Nitrogen: A trip down the Mississippi,” placed in the 2012-13 William Randolph Hearst Foundation’s Enterprise Writing Competition. She was an assistant editor for
IowaWatch until graduating from Iowa and accepting a reporting position at the
